What is life without salad?
When poke bowl was introduced to Malaysia, many of us wasn't sure where did this brilliant invention come from. Did it evolve from a salad? yay, no leaf! Or is this a Japanese fusion invention? it does have raw fish!
This Hawaiian creation of a balanced, nutritious and filling bowl is just utter brilliance. Of course, over here we added toppings such as chia seeds, flaxseeds, all kinds of seeds and nuts, avocado etc. and turn it into a superfood bowl.
Here are the three current top hits in Malaysia.
Five-HT @ 50, Jalan Maarof (it's at Telawi, Bangsar, just facing the main road).
The Fish Bowl @ PJS11/9, Sunway & One Utama Old Wing, LG floor.
Paper Fish @ 26, Datuk Sulaiman, TTDI.
Five-HT delectable . . they sure know how to make your taste buds happy, but they do not know how to make your wallet happy.
The Fish Bowl soul satisfying . . I mean, com'on, unlimited toppings? tell me you don't love that? value for money & delicious. it was very filling! and they sell fresh coconut for RM6.90.
RM17.90 (+RM6 for upsize, +RM1.50 to RM13.90 for other toppings)
Premium bowl choices: RM25.90 soft shell crab, RM35.90 unagi)
Paper Fish good. they are good at what they do and everything blend in perfectly. most of their items are pre-set, there are still a choice to build your own.
RM17.90 (+RM6 to upsize, +RM1.50 to RM9 for additional toppings)
Fixed item prices starts from RM15.90.
There are no bad ones but which is my favourite? Jeng, jeng jeng! THE FISH BOWL. Value for money & good portion. The unlimited toppings probably helped.
